Spelling Bee - North America Spelling Champion Challenge (NASCC)

NASCC is the largest international-level spelling bee competition in North America, mainly consisting of American and Chinese students. Every summer, in cooperation with Spelling Bee of China (SPBCN) and South Asian Spelling Bee, NASCC invites top spellers from national and regional competitions in China and North America to come to cities in the US to partake in this event. The first 5 days includes a summer camp consisting of a training course in spelling combined with fun activities and an opportunity to develop international friendships and create connections. The weekend includes an intense spelling bee competition for all participants. The top 9 spellers share $5000 cash prize. The champion earns a fully sponsored trip to Beijing, China, to participate in the Global China Spelling Champion Challenge (GCSCC).

NASCC currently takes place  each July or August in southern California and Washington DC area. Future competitions are slated to take place along other cities of America and Canada.

NASCC aims to help students learn spelling skills, enhance English proficiency, and deepen global exchanges and cultural understanding of youth education. NASCC hopes that the spelling bee will serve as a way to gather the world’s outstanding young people to make use of the power of the word for the betterment of the world. An optimistic future of the world contributes strength to the youth of the world.
